As it was a drill, the Emergency Committee decided to change the sound of the alert, but in government buildings, the private sector, television and radio stations the sound of a real earthquake was broadcast, since it was not possible to change it.
In this exercise, around 6 million 800 thousand people participated and a total of 708 properties, which were registered through the platform preparados.gob.mx/simulacronacional2021 administered by the National Coordination of Civil Protection, authorities said in a statement.

The Secretariat of Citizen Security participated in the drill with 16,429 uniformed personnel from the banking, preventive, auxiliary police and the Rescue and Medical Emergencies Squad (ERUM); one thousand 639 vehicles, 14 motorcycles, 10 cranes, 20 ambulances, 15 motorcycle ambulances and 3 rescue units.
For its part, the Red Cross participated with 96 elements, while the Secretariat of Integral Risk Management and Civil Protection had 320 officials working. 50 elements of the Ministry of National Defense and 18 of the Navy also participated.
For this drill there was a hypothesis of an earthquake of magnitude 7.2, with an epicenter 35 kilometers from Acatlán de Osorio, Puebla, and a depth of 55 kilometers, which would have perception in much of the center of the country.
