Chihuahua Prosecutor’s Office Reports Disappearance of 12 Migrants at Border

Authorities in Chihuahua issued search alerts in the face of the disappearance of at least 12 migrants at the border with the state of Texas, in the United States.
According to the search sheets, the migrants from Chihuahua and Querétaro left the state capital and city of Aldama on September 25 for Ojinaga, with the intention of crossing the border.

The agency has identified Luis Carlos Islas Villegas, José Luis Pallares, Javier Ricardo, López Rodríguez, Emmanuel Aguilar Bailón, Benigno Alberto Álvarez Castro, Amador Aguilar Mendoza, Lorenzo Abraham González Mendoza among the missing migrants.
A minor traveling with the group said they were illegally held before reaching Ojinaga, but managed to escape, according to a report by the Diario de Juarez.
For now, Chihuahua authorities are carrying out search actions with air and ground searches and the support of the K-9 group in a gap that leads from Coyame del Sotol to the Lomas de Arena community, in the same municipality of Ojinaga, reported Reforma.
