Morelia, Michoacán.- The government of Michoacán gave recognition to three winning artists of the 17th edition of the Eréndira State Arts Award 2021 in Michoacán.The winners were: Manuel Valencia Chávez (category in traditional arts), Rafael Flores Correa (category in visual arts) and Juan Alzate Núñez (category in music and sound art). At the awards ceremony, the governor expressed that art and culture are fundamental to the “rebirth” of society in times of pandemic. We must all give ourselves the space for artistic expressions and from an early age instill in children the taste for culture,” he said. This award has been received by 49 artists and two groups in recognition of their skills and contributions to the arts, said the head of the Ministry of Culture of the state, Gabriela Molina Aguilar.This year 26 candidates were nominated, from among which five finalists were selected, and of those the three winners mentioned. The Eréndira State Prize for the Arts is a recognition that the State Government grants to great Michoacan artists in their various fields of work.
