He got lost in the mountain and did not attend to rescuers for an unusual reason.

The search and rescue organization Lake County Search and Rescue (LCSAR) of Colorado, United States, issued a very particular statement, after a large deployment of men and women prepared to find a tourist who was lost in the mountains and did not answer the phone of the team that worked to find him.

The hiker who was lost at Mount Elbert a few days ago, they reportedly began his journey on the mountain’s southern trail on the morning of October 18. As he did not return as planned, they gave notice to the authorities, who began the tracking tasks.
The first thing they did is call his cell phone to try to locate him. But the man did not heed the calls he received as he did not recognize the number.

The tourist later commented that he does not attend to those numbers that he does not have scheduled, because he believes that they are calls from some type of “Spam” and that is why he ignored the insistent attempts of the rescuers to find him.

What was not clear to the rescue team is why the man, seeing himself lost, did not call the police to notify. Perhaps he was confident that he could fix himself, and he didn’t mind taking two more days to come back, and so he didn’t heed the calls. Anyway, the search and rescue team issued a statement for future missing people, asking that they please attend the phone, even if it is from an unknown user.
