However, regarding the date chosen, Senator Huenchumilla said that “we cannot meet in parallel to the indictment, we do not know at what time it will end. And therefore, the regulation also says that they have to summon us at least 24 hours in advance. So, to avoid regulatory problems, it was left for tomorrow.”
As for the work that is coming, Senator Pedro Araya (Ind.) indicated that during the day the time of the session will be informed and said that it is most likely that as an opposition the senators will present some indications to seek agreements on issues such as setting taxes.
In this regard, Senator Huenchumilla admitted that “if the project is voted as it is, there are probably no votes (…) the task is to seek an agreement” “If the changes are of such a nature that they do not satisfy everyone either, it could not come out positively either,” he warned.
“So, the task of the Mixed Commission is to seek an agreement that allows a certain transversality, to move this forward. It’s not all or nothing,” he concluded.
