Coronavirus vaccines donated by Argentina arrived in the Caribbean

The Organization of Eastern Caribbean States, based in Saint Lucia, today received the 42,000 doses of AstraZeneca donated by Argentina, within the framework of the strategy of international reciprocity and solidarity aimed at equitable access to vaccines to reduce the effects of the coronavirus pandemic. The shipment, received by Abraham S. Weekes of the Pharmaceutical Procurement Service of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States, will be distributed as follows: Saint Lucia (18,000 doses), Dominica (2,000 doses), Grenada (11,000 doses) and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (11,000 doses).

It should be noted that these donations were managed by the Ministries of Health and Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship and are made as a result of the offer that Argentina has initiated by ensuring the stock of doses necessary to complete the distribution of vaccines for the entire population. The Argentine government offered doses to different countries that are in situations of need to access vaccines. In fact, it has already sent vaccines to Mozambique and Vietnam, while it will send doses of AstraZeneca to Angola, Kenya and Barbados.
