Nuevo León.- A patient who yesterday escaped from the psychiatric hospital of Colonia Topo Chico, in Monterrey, fleeing through a sewer, was rescued by elements of Civil Protection of Escobedo. The man was found in a sewer 8.3 kilometers from the Regional Hospital of Specialties No. 22, which is on Rayones Street, in the north of the City. The psychiatric patient fled the facilities and then got into a sewer in the afternoon of yesterday Wednesday. The escape provoked a deployment of rescuers and police, spreading towards Escobedo. The authorities feared for the physical integrity of the person, on the suspicion that he could die in the storm drain. Today, around 11:15 a.m., Escobedo’s Civil Protection continued with the search, when they received the report of screams in a sewer. They went to the intersection of Hacienda de Escobedo and Hacienda Santa María, in Colonia Haciendas de Escobedo, where they confirmed the report. They removed the manhole cover and found the patient, whom they rescued down a ladder. They gave him first aid and secured him.
