52 animal NGOs were awarded more than $ 500 million from the Subdere to promote responsible tenure

A total of 52 animal NGOs were awarded more than $500 million from the Undersecretariat of Regional Development (Subdere) for the execution of projects related to responsible tenure. These are 63 initiatives ranging from books to legal advice, supported by the competitive funds promoted by the Protected Pet program of the distribution. “We have been providing funds for four years to support NGOs in their work to protect animals and without a doubt, we have had good results. There are currently more than one million 800 thousand pets registered in the National Pet Registry, a tool that allows us to recognize their guardians and gives us the opportunity to take action in cases of abandonment or loss. As Subdere we will continue to promote initiatives like these to reach many more households, in order to promote responsible tenure and educate people,” said the national head of the Protected Pet program, Carolina Guerrero.La Undersecretary of Regional Development, María Paz Troncoso indicated that “from 2018 to date, it has benefited 123 NGOs, through which 244 projects have been financed with a budget of more than $ 2,600 million. We are convinced that, working together, we will be able to better promote Law 21,020, which requires responsible ownership and respect for our animals.” These are the 63 winning projects:ANTOFAGASTA REGIONSym Sterilization Program- Alma Animal Foundation.ATACAMA REGION2.
