Guido Girardi denounces Kast’s command of plagiarism of slogan of Congreso Futuro: “Chile has a future”

Senator Guido Girardi described the slogan of José Antonio Kast’s campaign “Chile has a future”, recently published in El Mercurio, as a “plagiarism and political exploitation that does not correspond”.
“I find it very regrettable that the name of this transversal strategy for Chile has been taken, which is ‘Chile has a future’ to transform it into a slogan of one of the campaigns, it seems to me that there is a kind of plagiarism and political exploitation that does not correspond and that damages efforts that are as important as this.”

“Chile has a future”, whose phrase is registered as a domain in Nic Chile, is the name of an economic development strategy in which different commissions have worked for more than two years under the eaves of the Senate Future Commission. Nearly 800 people have participated in these, including academics, scientists, entrepreneurs and innovators, Chileans and foreigners, to generate science-based programs that can be used for the development of the country.
The set of these programs – which will be presented by Girardi and the president of the Senate, Ximena Rincón – will have its launch date in January of next year when a new version of the Future Congress is made. On the occasion, the strategy or navigation chart for the coming years will be delivered to the Presidency of the Constitutional Convention and the President-elect.

In the strategy, he realizes the work to transform Chile into a global data center, as the data bank of the future; in the world center for sustainable food from the Chilean seas, given that it is the most productive in the world by the Humboldt current: and as a forestry power. In addition, other commissions are evaluating the impact that Artificial Intelligence will have on jobs, as well as on possible futures, which implies modeling the different futures and scenarios that climate change and the development of AI will have.
“I consider it inappropriate to use efforts that are transversal, that are from the scientific world, that use concepts, slogans, that do not belong to those with which we have been working in pursuit of a transversal dimension, of a challenge to build a country project that unites left and right, to all public and private universities, that unites the center with the regions,” Girardi said.
The statements were issued by the senator after a brief tour of the city of Santo Domingo, in Santo Domingo, where he participated in a forum and met with important authorities of the Central American country to explain the creation in implementation in Chile of the Nutritional Labeling Law.
