After 10 days in the AICM, Venezuelan women and children are relocated to shelter

Immigration authorities relocated a woman and a 6-year-old minor of Venezuelan origin in a shelter, after keeping them for 10 days in facilities at the Mexico City International Airport (AICM).
According to the National Institute of Migration (INM), the woman and the minor were transferred on Monday to a shelter in the country’s capital.

The authorities argued that their detention in the AICM was made “in accordance with the provisions and protocols established by the Migration Law and its regulations.”

He also maintained that since December 3, the arrival of both was registered, but he rejected their entry into the country “due to inconsistencies in the immigration review process,” since the woman maintained that she was entering Mexico as a tourist, which she could not verify before the INM.

“His return to the country of origin was scheduled for the next day, but they refused to board the aircraft, as well as for subsequent rescheduling,” said the institute, which said it had received the refugee request on December 6.
