Elisa Loncon’s wink to Gabriel Boric: “Let’s opt for the proposal that is defending the new Constitution”

The president of the Constitutional Convention, Elisa Loncon, made a gesture to the presidential candidate of Apruebo Dignidad, Gabriel Boric, and called to vote for the “proposal that is defending the new Constitution.” Loncon issued these sayings at the VIII Lafkenche Congress, held in Toltén, Region of La Araucanía, and which concluded yesterday.
“Let’s go vote in that conscious cause, where the people recover and defend what we have won (…) let’s defend what we have advanced and opt for the proposal that is defending the new Constitution, parity, the rights of nature, the rights of sexual dissidents, the rights of women,” Loncon said.

Recall that Boric’s contender for the second round, José Antonio Kast (Christian Social Front), has pointed out continuous criticism against the constituent body.
“If they did not respect the right to freedom of expression, freedom of worship, freedom of education, private property, I would lead, within the legal frameworks authorized by the Comptroller’s Office, everything I can so that this is rejected,” said the candidate for La Moneda in the debate of the Association of Broadcasters of Chile (Archi).
The candidate of Apruebo Dignidad, on the other hand, has already expressed his support for the body that will draft the new Constitution. “My commitment is to defend the constituent process and the right of everyone to participate in it,” Boric said at a campaign activity in San Joaquin on Dec. 11.
Both Boric and Kast will participate in the presidential runoff, to be held on Sunday, December 19.
