Budget 2022: the Civic Coalition criticized the interior of Together for Change

After the rejection of the 2022 Budget promoted by the Government, the Civic Coalition differed from the hard core of Together for Change and said that “turning the Budget was not an option.” In this sense, he called for a “smarter and more responsible position” within the opposition coalition, in a strong criticism of the interior of the space. In a statement released on his social networks, he explained: “For the Civic Coalition to flip the Budget was not an option. We understand that the tension and foolishness of the ruling party may have locked together Together for Change, but we needed poise to have a smarter and more responsible position.” 

In addition, the CC -which is part of JxC together with the PRO and the radicalism- pointed out that “the inability of the ruling party to understand that to govern when you are in a minority you must give in was decisive”, and added: “Throughout the day of the budget debate we work and exhaust all possible instances so that the project returns to the commission and not to reject it as it finally happened. Now Congress will not be able to deal with a new budget until March 1, because it is prevented by our National Constitution.” We understand that the tension and foolishness of the ruling party may have locked together Together for Change, but we needed poise to have a more intelligent and responsible position,” he argued and wished that “the Executive Branch has the minimum sense.” “We are not going to boycott an agreement with the IMF because Argentina does not resist more economic instability,” he said. Finally, he concluded: “For the good of all Argentines, and in the midst of so much irresponsibility, it is encouraging that a good meeting has been held with the head of the Monetary Fund. The ruling party must be able to assimilate that it is a minority in the National Congress and that Argentines voted for a limit, and that dialogue must be without traps or lies.”
