Environmental contingency suspended in CDMX and Edomex

The Environmental Commission of the Megalopolis (CAMe) suspended the environmental contingency due to poor air quality in the southeast area of the Valley of Mexico.
According to a statement from the commission, the measure was taken after at 03:00 hours on Sunday, hourly concentrations of PM2.5 less than 97.4 micrograms per cubic meter were recorded.
He added that, during the early hours of today, the system that caused atmospheric stability lost intensity, which allowed a greater dispersion of PM2.5 particles, as well as the decrease in the burning of pyrotechnic material.

“These conditions are better than yesterday and favor the dispersion of pollutants,” the commission said.
This Saturday, the CAMe activated the preventive phase for pollutants in the Valley of Mexico, after registering extremely poor air quality; He attributed the increase in pollutants to the fact that during December 24 and 25 there were “extraordinary emissions generated mainly by the burning of pyrotechnics, bonfires and burning of other materials.”
The areas where the prevention phase was active were the municipalities of Iztapalapa, Milpa Alta, Tláhuac, Xochimilco; and the municipalities of Amecameca, Atlautla, Ayapango, Chalco, Cocotitlán, Ecatzingo, Juchitepec, Ozumba, Temamatla, Tenango del Aire, Tepetlixpa, Tlalmanalco and Valle de Chalco Solidaridad.

The Environmental Commission called on the population to contribute to the reduction of pollutants and avoid the burning of pyrotechnics in the end of the year festivities.
