CDMX will not close economic activities due to an increase in COVID cases

The head of government, Claudia Sheinbaum, said that a closure of economic activities is not contemplated, despite the increase in COVID cases.
At a press conference, he said that coronavirus cases have increased a bit in the city, but not the number of hospitalizations.
He pointed out that today there will be a review, with the Ministry of Health, to evaluate the issue of the ómicron variant in the city.

“Yes, we can say, as Eduardo Clark mentioned on Friday, and the Secretary of Health, Oliva, that the number of cases has increased a little, but not the number of hospitalizations. Today we are going to do a review; there is no change of traffic light nor do we plan to close any economic activity,” he said.
The head of government asked the population to continue taking care of themselves, particularly in this cold season, and to wear the mask, mainly in closed places.
“It’s important to spend it as a family, but always take all the precautions,” he said.

Until December 24, the international platform where cases of new variants are reported in the world, Gisaid, reports that in Mexico there are 41 identified cases of omicron, until yesterday the report was 25.
The cases are distributed in three entities: 30 in Mexico City, 8 in the State of Mexico and 3 in Tamaulipas.
