For Capitanich, Alberto Fernández “cannot be excluded” from the 2023 elections

The governor of Chaco, Jorge Capitanich, said today that President Alberto Fernández “cannot be excluded” from the 2023 presidential elections. “The President has to achieve a competitive electoral base from the point of view of the year 2023 and he obviously cannot be excluded from that contest,” he said, in dialogue with Radio 10.He also expressed that “all positions” can be “settled in open primaries” and considered that this gives a framework of “legitimacy to governments and candidates.”
The Frente de Todos must generate an “institutional framework” for the 2023 elections

His statements are in line with what President Alberto Fernández expressed at the ceremony for the Day of Militancy, where he said: “My greatest aspiration is that in 2023 from the last councilor to the President he will be chosen first by the comrades of the Frente de Todos.” When asked about the role of Vice President Cristina Kirchner, Capitanich considered her “a key factor in decisions for the future” and said that “what the former president intends to do” will depend on “her will.” All this amid rumors that indicate that the head of the Senate would compete for the presidency in 2023.On the other hand, he said that, at least on his part, it is “still a moment of reflection” to “think about a candidacy”, since first it is necessary to “strengthen the national project and guarantee continuity and succession” in his province.
