Health adds more than 15 thousand COVID cases in one day; increase is 69%

The federal Ministry of Health registered 15,184 new confirmed cases of COVID in one day, for a total of 4,9,846 infections since the beginning of the pandemic.
In the last two weeks, the agency reported a 69% increase in the number of infections, of which it estimates that there are 61,477 that are active (1.5%), that is, that they presented symptoms recently.

The states with the most active cases per 100,000 inhabitants are Baja California Sur, Mexico City, Quintana Roo, San Luis Potosi and Yucatan, the agency said in a statement.
Chiapas, Veracruz, Michoacán, Tlaxcala and Oaxaca are the entities with the lowest incidence rate of active cases.

On Tuesday, 130 more deaths from the disease were reported. So far, 299,711 deaths from the coronavirus have been confirmed. In addition, there are 5,493 classified as suspicious.
Hospital occupancy of general beds for COVID patients is 17%, while of ventilator beds is 11%.
According to the agency, this Monday 75 thousand 110 anti-COVID vaccines were applied, with which they add up to 149 million 382 thousand 709 doses supplied.
Health pointed out that, so far, at least 82 million 91 thousand 136 people -equivalent to 88% of the population over 18 years old- have received at least one vaccine: 72 million 881 thousand 907 have a complete scheme (89%), and 9 million 209 thousand 229 only with the first dose (11%).
