IMSS reports the creation of 846,416 formal jobs in 2021

In 2021, the creation of 846,416 formal jobs was registered, reported the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS).
He explained that this number of new jobs is the highest increase in the history of the Institute and is equivalent to an annual rate of 4.3%.
However, he indicated that in December there was a monthly fall of 312,902 jobs, which is equivalent to equivalent to a monthly rate of -1.5%.

He indicated that for the second consecutive year, the trend of presenting the smallest decreases in employment in December is maintained. In the same month, but in 2020, the loss of 277,820 jobs was reported.
“The decrease of just under 313,000 jobs is the second most favorable data in absolute terms since 2016 and in relative terms since 2015,” it said in its December employment report.
The IMSS reported that as of December 31, 2021, 20 million 620 thousand 148 jobs have been registered; 87% are permanent and 13% are temporary.

The economic sectors with the highest annual growth in jobs are: transport and communications with 11.0%; extractive with 8.1% and construction with 7.0%.
The entities with annual increases above 12.0% are: Tabasco, Quintana Roo and Baja California Sur.

Regarding the base contribution salary, he reported that it reached an amount of $438.6 pesos, as of December 31, 2021.
In addition, during the last month of the year, 41,373 members joined the Domestic Workers Program, which meant 11 times more than the number of positions registered in April 2019.
