Alleged femicide of Renata found dead, in Edomex prison

The Secretariat of Security of the State of Mexico reported that Carlos Daniel “N”, who was imprisoned inside the Chalco prison, accused of the femicide of Renata Martinely, was found dead inside his cell.
The events occurred last Sunday, when “during the roll call made in the Penitentiary Center, the guards realized that he did not respond to the call and was lying on the ground; when going to the specialist on duty, he determined that the person deprived of liberty did not have vital signs,” the agency said in a statement.

The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico, the authority that made the death certificate, determined as the cause of death a cerebral edema secondary to mechanical asphyxiation by strangulation.

A man who was linked to proceedings in the prison of #Chalco, for his probable participation in the crime of femicide, was found dead.
The subject shows signs of suffocation, so the @FiscaliaEdomex is conducting the corresponding investigation.

“The ministerial authority continues with the investigations and will interview the people deprived of liberty who were sharing a bedroom with the now deceased,” the statement said.
Carlos Daniel was linked to the process on January 1, for the femicide of Renata Martinely Reyes, 13, which occurred in November 2020, in the municipality of Ixtapaluca.
On November 29, 2020, Renata was found dead inside her own home, lying on her bed, with her blankets on top. His body showed signs of violence.
Karen Reyes, Renata’s mother, accused the young woman’s ex-partner, with whom she lived for five years, of femicide. She filed a complaint five months earlier against Carlos Daniel “N” in the Specialized Agency on Family, Sexual and Gender Violence (AMPEVIS), for harassment against her daughter, but there was no follow-up by the authorities.
The year in which she was murdered, the State of Mexico was the entity with the most femicides in the whole country, with 150 victims.
