Ricky Gervais attended “The One Show,” an American television series, to promote the premiere of the third season of “After Life,” the netflix-available series created, directed and starring him. The actor did not attend alone, he went to the floor with his faithful friend, Anti, the dog who like him stars in the series in each of the seasons. There, in the middle of the interview, they gave an emotional show that left those present in the studio speechless. In “After Life” Tony (Gervais) loses his wife to cancer. Since then he has been living a life closed to any new relationship, denied, full of pain and resentment. As a result of this character that he had to play, the actor revealed that he could not help but think about his real life and his wife, the television producer and author Jane Fallon. “The first thing I thought was, What if you lost everything? You can do whatever you want and there will be no consequences,” the director revealed and told Alex Scott and Alex Jones: “I had to think, ‘What’s it like to lose everything?’ And for me, it’s your soulmate, your life partner.” He continued: “It would be terrible. You know, I want to leave first, which is selfish, but I want it.” Back then, Anti burst in with a doggy cry… which led Ricky to stop and those present in the studio to release a “aww” moved.
“Not yet, Anti! I’m not leaving yet, Anti,” joked Ricky Gervais. “Oh, Anti, I have six more years left!” he closed as the animal licked him.
