Alleged Killers of Canadians Arrested at Quintana Roo Hotel

The Prosecutor’s Office of Quintana Roo announced the arrest of Christian “R” and Nhu “T”, allegedly responsible for the murder of two Canadians, as well as injuring another person, inside the Xcaret hotel in the municipality of Solidaridad.
According to the authorities’ version, Christian was part of a criminal group dedicated to depriving people of their lives, so he was hired to perform “a job” in the state.
The Prosecutor’s Office said that Christian arrived at the entity since January 16, where along with three other people he was following the victim at the hotel.

Faced with the surveillance inside and outside the hotal, the Prosecutor’s Office maintained that they temporarily left Quintana Roo, to later pick up another subject allegedly hired for the same purpose.
“On Friday, January 21, Christian ‘R’ received instructions to pick up another subject hired for the same purpose at the International Airport of the State of Quintana Roo and immediately, they moved to the aforementioned hotel to which they entered, apparently, with bracelets which served them to remain temporarily in the facilities of the hotel,” explained prosecutor Óscar Montes de Oca Rosales at a press conference.

After the aggression, the alleged perpetrators agreed to flee, however the videos of the hotel, the C5 and the Prosecutor’s Office of Quintana Roo, allowed to locate him a day after the attack.
The second person arrested, Nhu “T”, was part of the group of vacationers to which the victims belonged, however, the authorities attribute to him that on the day of the attack “he met the aggressor inside the hotel approximately 40 minutes before the execution of the victims was carried out, staying together for a time close to 3 minutes”.
It should be clarified that the now victims arrived in a group formed by 10 people and three minors to this destination, apparently, to vacation.
The Prosecutor’s Office ruled that the attack on the 34-year-old Canadians stemmed from “an economic debt that is generated by transnational illicit activities in which the victims participated.”
