Simracing: Gonzalo Pío Pérez, the champion of the Logitech G Challenge

Gonzalo, 19 years old and received as an electronics technician, amazed the world of Argentine simracing and from Filo.News we were able to talk to him to tell us about his path to being the champion of the Logitech G Challenge.Filo.News: How is the Logitech competition? What stages do you have and what games do you participate in?
Gonzalo: It starts from July 30 as qualifying stages to the Semifinal and lasts until November 22, that the TOP 3 of each qualifying race is classified directly to the Semi final, the grid is completed up to 20 drivers with the drivers who qualified during the qualifying races and those who were not within the TOP 3 add points to have the possibility also to qualify and complete the grid in the semi final, then the Top 10 of the Semi Final qualify for the grand final and whoever wins the race wins “the grand prize”. The categories that compete are Stock Car (Nascar), Open Wheel (Formula), Sports Car (GT3 in Assetto Corsa Competizione)Filo.News: What prizes do you give?
Gonzalo: McLaren VIP Experience: Four-day/three-night all-inclusive trip to London, McLaren Technology Centre tour, an exclusive meeting and meeting with Lando Norris (McLaren f1 driver) and VIP experience with tickets to the F1 British GP. Filo.News: When did you get into simracing? Which simulator did you decide to start with?
Gonzalo: I went into simracing at the end of 2018, I spent a month in Assetto Vorsa and then I got into iRacing
Filo.News: What is your setup and what would you recommend to someone who wants to start in this world?
Gonzalo: Logitech G29 Steering Wheel and Pedals. I recommend that you buy what you can to enjoy this beautiful world that is simracing.

Filo.News: How is your training for each competition? Do you have a coach?
Gonzalo: Training to know the circuit for a couple of hours every day and I have my coach who is called Suellio Almeida, a Brazilian but currently lives in Canada. It helps me to know where I am going wrong and how to fix bad driving habits.
Filo.News: How does it influence your routine?
Gonzalo: It doesn’t influence me at all, but without a doubt an achievement of which I am proudFilo.News: What is your competitive year going to be like?
Gonzalo: Surely I will try to go next year back to compete in the Logitech G Challenge and try to continue improving within the simulator to reach a good level with the rest of the world.
