AMLO will not be able to talk about revocation of mandate, orders the INE

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador must refrain from commenting or talking about the process of revocation of mandate, until April 10 when the exercise is carried out.
This was unanimously determined by the Complaints Commission of the National Electoral Institute (INE), derived from a complaint filed by the PRD, which argued an improper use of public resources by the president when allocating time from his morning conference to promote the revocation of the mandate.

On February 1, the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) invalidated the article of the Federal Law of Revocation of Mandate, which allowed political parties to promote citizen participation in the exercise of revocation of mandate, since it maintained that it will only be a task of the INE.
It also determined that the INE will be able to install fewer boxes than those that were initially established for the revocation of the mandate, to the number that “allows the budget that has so far been scheduled.”
In addition, he indicated that “resolution on any type of criminal or administrative responsibility against the members of the General Council of said Institute, in the terms and for the purposes indicated in this agreement” will not be executed.

The Complaints Commission also resolved that the president must temporarily remove from his platforms the conference of February 2, where he spoke of the question that will appear on the revocation of mandate ballot.
