Filo.explica│Life and death of Whitney Houston

Whitney Elizabeth Houston was born in 1963 in New Jersey, United States. She began singing at the age of eleven, when she joined the gospel choir of a Baptist Church. She grew up haunted by well-known professional singers: her mother Cissy Houston, her cousins Dionne and Dee Dee Warwick, and her godmother, the great Aretha Franklin. At the age of 22 she released her debut album, which was called “Whitney Houston”, which had three songs at number 1 in the charts: “Saving All My Love For You”, “How Will I Know” and “Greatest Love Of All”. In 1987 he released “Whitney”, his second album. With it she became the first female artist to debut at number one in the United States. In January 1991 he sang the national anthem at the Super Bowl, the most popular event in the country. Whitney was already a star, and her success was unstoppable. A year later his consecration would come. She made her acting debut in the film The Bodyguard, opposite Kevin Costner. In addition to acting, Whitney recorded several songs for the soundtrack. Among them, what would be his great success: “I Will Always Love You” with which he would break all the rankings. That track would be one of the best-selling singles in history. The following years were those of personal and professional consolidation: she married singer Bobby Brown, had a daughter, filmed several more films and recorded successful albums. Success and fame were going to make him pay a very high cost. As in many other cases of big stars in the music industry, Whitney Houston began to have big problems with drug use. In addition, her own father sued her for 100 million dollars for shares of the company he had founded. The relationship with her husband became more than turbulent because of the mistreatment by him. Whitney’s world was crumbling. Drug use was so problematic that it caused Whitney to retire from music for a time. His life became an unstoppable earthquake. Lovers, problems with the press and, finally, the divorce of Bobby Brown. On February 11, 2012 Whitney Houston was found dead in the bath of her hotel room in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles. He was 48 years old. The original autopsy determined that Whitney’s cause of death was “accidental drowning.” Eight years after his death, in 2020, the investigation was reopened. What happened now?
