Tula Hospital in failed refinery will be completed in March 2023: Robledo

On the grounds of the failed refinery in Tula, Hidalgo, the IMSS hospital that flooded in September 2021 will be relocated and its construction will be completed in March 2023, said the director of the IMSS, Zoé Robledo.
He explained that, after visiting and reviewing the property, they are in process with Petróleos Mexicanos (PEMEX) to receive the land in donation.
“We talked with the director of Pemex, the property was visited and the truth, due to the location, the conditions of the land, it would greatly facilitate the rapid construction so that services are restored in Tula.  We are in the process of donating them, receiving them and starting to work on the project,” he said.

At a press conference, he explained that this new hospital will have 114 beds for patient care, instead of 60 that were in the flooded hospital.
In addition, he said, the number of specialties that can be had and implement a model to serve people without social security is analyzed.

In September 2021, 17 people died at the IMSS hospital in Tula, Hidalgo, after power failure due to rains and flooding.
Animal Político reported in December that the failed refinery that former President Felipe Calderón wanted to build in Tula, Hidalgo, continues to generate costs for Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex).
The Superior Audit of the Federation (ASF) determined that, although the land has no use, the productive company eroded, in 2020, 195 million 539.5 thousand pesos to pay the credit through which the property was acquired 12 years ago.
That is only a part of the total cost of the properties, which amounts to 1,451.4 million pesos and that Pemex committed to cover monthly until 2027.
