Mexico has 8,854 cases of COVID; contagion trend down 48%

The federal Ministry of Health reported 8,854 new confirmed cases of COVID in Mexico, for a total of 5,292,706 since the beginning of the pandemic.
According to the technical statement of the agency, between weeks 2 and 4 of the year the number of infections has been reduced by 48%.
Authorities estimate that there are 107,652 active cases (1.9%), and that 4,519,024 patients have recovered.
The entities with the most active cases per 100,000 inhabitants are Colima, Baja California Sur, Mexico City, Tlaxcala and Nayarit.

In the last five weeks, Health has recorded that most of the cases are present in people aged 30 to 39 years. They are followed by the groups of 18 to 29 years and 40 to 49 years.
On the last day, there was a hospital occupancy of general beds for COVID patients of 30%, and 23% for beds with ventilator.
This Saturday Health applied 434 thousand 541 vaccines against the coronavirus, with which they add 172 million 480 thousand 864 doses administered.
According to health authorities, 84 million 97 thousand 727 people -equivalent to 89% of the population over 18 years of age in Mexico- have received at least one vaccine: 77 million 924 thousand 179 have a complete scheme (94%) and 6 million 173 thousand 548 have only the first dose (6%).
