Donald Trump and sons accused of alleged fraudulent tax practices

The New York Justice denied the appeal filed by Donald Trump and two of his children, Ivanka and Donald, who refused to testify in the investigation opened by the New York Prosecutor’s Office, which had found “significant evidence” that “they falsely and fraudulently valued multiple assets,” according to the news agency AFP.De this way today, the justice ordered the former president of the United States to testify in the open case initiated against the former president and children. The defendants must “appear within 21 days to testify,” while their eldest son, Donald Jr., will have “14 days” to present to the New York prosecutor, Letitia James, the “documents and information” requested, North American sources said. For its part, the ANSA agency reported that according to the judge, James has “the clear right” to question the Trumps after having discovered “copious evidence of possible financial fraud,” they explained. “No one is above the law, today justice prevailed,” the prosecutor said in a statement, after in 2019 she opened an investigation into the activity of Trump’s family group.According to a 100-page file published last January, the prosecutor suspects that the family business of the former president “fraudulently” inflated the value of some properties to request loans from banks and reduced the value presented to the treasury to pay less taxes. In late December and early January, the prosecutor summoned the former president and his two children to testify under oath, but the Trump family did not respond to the subpoenas and tried to delay the investigation several times.
