Free exchange and loan of books by Chilean and international authors in GAM for commemoration of the 8M

More than 500 copies and a hundred titles by women writers from all over the world are part of We are authors of our history, the activity with which Penguin Random House Editorial Group, the GAM Cultural Center and Biblioteca Libre will commemorate International Women’s Day, 8M.
From 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 4, Saturday, March 5 and Sunday, March 6 in the central square of GAM, a free Pop Up library will feature the best of national and international literature written by authors of all time. In addition to a space for the exchange of books with the most varied writers of all genres and an essential selection of feminist books.
Within the wide catalog arranged by Penguin Random House will be works by key authors of the twentieth century such as Virginia Woolf, Simone de Beauvoir, Susan Sontag, Alejandra Pizarnik and Hannah Arendt; as well as contemporary feminist writers such as Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Virginie Despentes, Jeanette Winterson and Rebecca Solnit. Of course, there will also be available titles of great Chileans such as Gabriela Mistral, Marta Brunet, Isabel Allende, Marcela Serrano, Carla Guelfenbein, Nona Fernández and Lina Meruane, among many others.
A free and unmissable panorama that will summon authors, publishers and readers in a unique day that includes book raffles, signed copies for those who participate in the exchange, a collaborative mural where to share messages alluding to the 8M and the participation of authors and reviewers recommending live books through social networks and the Instagram account @penguinlibroscl.
Among the authors who will participate in the activity are María José Cumplido, Carmen Gloria López, Carolina Aspillaga, Luisa Verdee, Tati Fernández, Josefa Araos, Andrea Lagos, Carolina Rojas, Alejandra Carmona, Tania Tamayo, Dalal Halabi and Andrea Huneeus.
To participate in the exchange of books, up to a maximum of 5 copies per person will be allowed, that all texts have been written by women, of any gender, and that they are in good condition. In the case of the loan of works, these will be provided daily, to be read exclusively in the GAM square and must be returned at the end of each day.
