Alleged murderer of club manager in Quintana Roo arrested

The Prosecutor’s Office of Quintana Roo reported the arrest of one of the alleged perpetrators of the murder of the manager of a beach club committed in Playa del Carmen.
According to the authorities, Wilber “U”, alias el molusco, was arrested in a prevention operation in the areas of operation of drug dealers and extortionists of Quintana Roo, but that also coincides with characteristics of extortion cases as well as the murder committed on January 25.

“In the database of the emergency number 911, several reports of extortion victims whose physical characteristics of one of the aggressors coincided with those of the now detained were found. In addition, this person had similar characteristics to one of the participants in the murder of the manager of a beach club,” the Prosecutor’s Office said without offering further information.

“As a result of the analysis of the evidence, specifically in what was indicated in the opinion in the specialty of human identification in which an anthropometric study of the physical composition and particular signs of the detainee was carried out, which were confronted with one of the people who appear in the videos that were extracted from the video recording equipment of the beach club, it was concluded that this is the same person who participated in the homicide, which was corroborated with other investigative techniques,” said prosecutor Óscar Montes de Oca.
