Mexico reached 5 million 599 thousand 284 cases of COVID-19

Mexico reached 5,599,284 cumulative cases of COVID-19 on Friday, the federal Ministry of Health reported in its daily technical report.
The agency in charge of Jorge Alcocer also reported that the number of people killed by the pandemic amounted to 320,851.
The Ministry of Health also reported that the estimated number of active cases is 23,681. These cases are those considered the engine of the pandemic in the country because they had symptoms in the last 14 days and have the capacity to infect.

Over the past few days, this indicator has come down.
The path of the pandemic
On February 28, Mexico marked two years since the first case of COVID-19 was detected in its territory. On March 18, it will be two years since the first death was recorded.
Currently, according to the federal authorities, the fourth wave of infections is already in a stage of decline, which is reflected in the fact that 31 of the 32 states are already green at the traffic light of epidemic risk.

In this context, the governments of Nuevo León and Coahuila announced this week that the use of masks will no longer be mandatory in open spaces.
