This weekend, the general secretary of the Unified Union of Education Workers of Buenos Aires (SUTEBA), Roberto Baradel, was reprimanded in a shop in Mar del Plata by a neighbor who, according to reports, questioned him if “he had dimensioned the educational damage he was doing to the Argentine Republic, its inhabitants and the future.” Then, when Baradel was about to leave the premises, the neighbor insisted: “Yes, you have to leave. Walk.” I don’t have to go anywhere, you know?” was the unionist’s response. The moment of tension continued until, upon warning the neighbor’s wife that he was recording the entire episode, Baradel threw it on the floor. “Give me the phone,” the woman said as his wife added, “Give the phone to my wife. Who do you think you are? Thief! Delinquent!”

Later, after the rapid viralization that the video reached on social networks, Baradel wrote from his Twitter account: “I appreciate the solidarity expressed by workers of a store I attended yesterday, in the face of the aggression exercised by a Macrista militant who tried to make him react after mounting a provocation.”
