3 more people arrested for violence in Corregidora; van 25 catches

The Prosecutor’s Office of Querétaro announced the arrest of three more people for the aggressions that occurred on March 5 at the Corregidora stadium.
Although the authorities report 25 arrests, two of the detainees were acquitted by a judge, considering that there were not enough elements to link them to the acts of violence.
The three detainees will be presented before a control judge, to request their connection to the process for the crime of violence in sports events.

A total of 23 people have been arrested on various charges, including attempted murder, violence at sporting events and apology for the crime; and there are 40 arrest warrants against possible participants in the acts of violence.

Last Saturday, March 5, at the 60th minute of the Queretaro-Atlas match —of day 9 of Mexican soccer—, groups of fans faced each other in the stands of the Queretaro enclosure. The fight moved to the outside of the stadium and the court, causing spectators, including women and children, to run and look for where to take refuge.
In the end, the official toll was 26 people injured, 25 of whom have already been discharged. The last patient who was hospitalized in Queretaro and considered serious, has already gone to the floor after showing “constant improvement,” according to the State Government Secretariat.
