Estimated active cases fall to 17,544

The number of estimated active cases of COVID-19, considered the engine of the pandemic in the country, continued on Tuesday with its downward trend and stood at 17,544, according to the most recent report of the federal Ministry of Health.
In the report a week ago, on Tuesday, March 8, the number of estimated active cases was 25,296.
Active cases represent those people who had symptoms in the last 14 days and still have the capacity to infect. The current decline is an indicator that the pandemic is receding in the country.

The report of the federal Ministry of Health also indicates that the number of accumulated cases reached 5 million 613 thousand 870 on Tuesday.
