Senator Ossandón fails to assume defeat: “In the Senate we were deceived and betrayed by the other parties of Chile Vamos”

The arrival of the President of the Republic, Gabriel Boric, also brought with it the election of a new Board of Directors for the Senate, which after a complicated vote, decided that the senator of the Socialist Party, Álvaro Elizalde, would be the president of the Chamber.
In conversation with Channel 13, the senator of National Renewal, Manuel José Ossandón, referred to his failed arrival at the presidency of the Upper House, assuring that the negotiations between the parties of the coalition with the left, caused a break within Chile Vamos.
“Chile We went, of course. There is a very serious break. There are things that are not done, especially when there is an election that is won, because we had one more vote than the opposition. The UDI and Evópoli negotiated secretly and handed over the only bastion we had left to make a counterpart to the great power that the ultra-left has today,” he said.
“We had 24 votes, we got 25 and the left had 23. I cannot understand why the UDI and Evópoli secretly negotiated with the Socialist Party and the Broad Front to leave us out and lose the Senate election. As Chile Vamos we had the four years of the presidency of the Senate and the four years of the vice presidency of the Senate,” he added.
Faced with the possibility of repairing the wounds between the parties of Chile Vamos, Senator Ossandón did not close the doors to the possibility of creating new alliances, but that depends on each party.
“We in the Senate are firm, because we were deceived, betrayed. We had agreed that at 11:00 p.m. on Thursday the negotiators were going to meet and if an agreement was not reached, a coin would be thrown away and the winner would be decided,” he said.
The agreement was not respected, since “the negotiators did not arrive, they disconnected their phones and the next day in the morning, Senator Galilea and me, the president of the UDI, Javier Macaya, informed us that he had nothing to talk to us because they had negotiated with the Socialist Party and the Broad Front.”
