The inauguration of AIFA in photos

The Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA), one of the main infrastructure projects of the six-year term of Andrés Manuel López Obrador, was formally inaugurated on Monday. 
Its operations and first flights began early, and later, at 11:00 a.m., a ceremony was held attended by 400 guests. Some of them were the head of government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum; the governors of the State of Mexico and Hidalgo, Alfredo del Mazo and Omar Fayad, respectively; members of the cabinet and representatives of the Legislative and Judicial branches.
Supporters of the president also attended, who threw batons and displayed posters of support, while some street vendors placed lines to offer cups, dolls with the figure of López Obrador and food.

Construction of the AIFA began in 2019. The López Obrador government hopes that this work and modernization works at the airports of Toluca and Mexico City will serve to solve the needs of air mobility in the Valley of Mexico.
During his morning press conference, López Obrador said that this work is another reflection of the “transformation” that he claims to be carrying out in the country. The president said that the AIFA will be a project for the benefit of Mexico, as he believes that the Mayan Train and the Dos Bocas refinery will be.
