Pentagon Says Russian Navy Is Bombing Mariupol

The U.S. Defense Department said Tuesday that Russian ships are bombing the southeastern Ukrainian city of Mariupol, according to data.
Pentagon spokesman John Kirby told a news conference that the U.S. has indications that Russian vessels in the Sea of Azov are contributing to the assault on the port town of Mariupol with projectile fire.
In parallel, “it is difficult for us to quantify it nor can we get to the detail about the type of ammunition that is being used, but it is quite clear that in the last two days there has been an increase in Russian naval activity in the Black Sea,” he said.
