Minsal denies full opening of land borders for May 1: “That will be informed in a timely manner to the citizens”

The Undersecretary of Public Health, Cristóbal Cuadrado, referred to the information that indicates that the Government will open all its border crossings by May 1.
During this Thursday, an alleged statement was leaked indicating that the National Directorate of Borders and State Limits (Difrol) had decided to fully open the land borders by May 1. In addition, requirements such as an affidavit, vaccination requirement and random PCR test were established.

This information was replicated by the Argentine Minister of the Interior, Eduardo de Pedro, who said that he had had a conversation with the Chilean Government, who confirmed that “as of the first of May they reopen all the land crossings that connect Argentina and Chile.”

Given this, Cuadrado said that “there has been no official information from the Ministry of Health and other agencies related to the decisions to open borders.”
“That will be informed in a timely manner to the citizens and, at that time, it will be clarified which are the border points that are going to be opened, in what time and also how the sanitary measures are going to adapt to the needs of the epidemiological situation,” the Health authority added in a conversation with CNN Chile.
