Eye care: technology to protect vision from exposure to screens

In the last two years, the time spent in front of screens has been increased by the isolation generated by the pandemic. According to a study conducted by Kantar IBOPE Media, 88% of people in Argentina have a smartphone, 78% own a notebook or desktop PC and 44% have a tablet. Cell phones, computers, televisions, tablets and even smart watches are part of everyday life, which occupy more than 8 hours a day, time that exceeds what is recommended by specialists. Spending hours in front of the computer screen, whether for work, study or leisure time, became routine, which can be harmful to the user’s eyesight, since the blue light that emanates can irritate the eyes or cause headaches. To reduce the risk of visual damage, ASUS is including OLED technology in its latest equipment, which in addition to allowing you to see images with more vivid and accurate colors and have perfect blacks, reduces harmful blue light by up to 70%. Screens with this technology also increase visual comfort, decreasing fatigue and preventing eye damage that can be caused by long hours of exposure to the screen. The Vivobook Pro 15 OLED is now available in the country, the first ASUS equipment of these characteristics to arrive in Argentina. These notebooks are also TÜV Rheinland certified, a system that regulates the brightness of the screen and is free of flickering.
