Luis Brandoni gave details of his relationship with Robert De Niro and the day he spent Christmas Eve at his home: “Tell him to call me”

Robert De Niro is in the country and ready to film “Nada”, the new series of the duo of national filmmakers Gastón Duprat and Mariano Cohn (who come from premiering “Official Competition”, with Penélope Cruz and Antonio Banderas accompanying Oscar Martínez), along with Luis Brandoni.

However, what few knew was that the Oscar winner (for “The Godfather II” and “Wild Bull”) already had a link with “Beto”, who remembered him this weekend, present in Implacables, by Canal Nueve. Lito Cruz went to see him in a play, then asked him for the rights that of course were given to him. One day he staged it, then he let her know that such a day of that year was going to be released, and so Bobby appeared in Buenos Aires to see the function. From there I met him and we have seen each other on different occasions,” said the famous actor.

Some time later, Brandoni stars in “Made in Argentina”, where he shared a scene with an American actor who coincidentally went to dinner at a restaurant that was De Niro’s. He asked him what he was doing over there, and this actor told him that he was filming with a certain Brandoni and De Niro said: ‘Brandoni! Tell him to call me.’ This boy couldn’t believe and the next day he came to tell me to call De Niro,” he recalled.

Thus, through a person who spoke English, he was able to communicate with the actor. “It turns out it was because we were on Christmas Eve eve, it was December 21, and he was afraid that I would spend the holidays alone, or with the production team. So he wanted to invite me to his house, and we went with Marta (Bianchi) and one of my daughters to his house to spend Christmas Eve.” I have to say as a compliment to him that nobody knows him on the street, first because he has such a humble attitude, and second because he has also made characters that are nothing like him, some very traumatic, others comedy, everything he does wonderfully, but in reality he is a very affable person. ” closed, distinguishing another of the actions of the protagonist of “Taxi Driver”, who passed through La Casa del Teatro, on an occasion in which they were gathering funds.

“Nada” will have five episodes and filming begins next week. It is designed to arrive at the Star+ platform, and will also feature the main performance of Guillermo Francella (who this year will premiere “El Encargado”, a series directed by Duprat and Cohn on the platform), with Andrea Frigerio and Gastón Cocchiarale completing the main cast.
