Sebastián Báez is a semi-finalist of the ATP 250 in Estoril

Argentine tennis player Sebastián Báez beat Frenchman Richard Gasquet 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 today and reached the semifinals of the ATP 250 in Estoril, Portugal, which is part of the European tour on brick dust. Báez, ranked 59th in the ATP world rankings, beat the experienced Gasquet (80th) in an hour and 55 minutes of play, and in the next instance he will have as his rival the Spanish Albert Ramos-Viñolas (31st), defender of the title.

Then, he beat him again in the semifinals of the ATP 250 in Chile, with partials of 6-4, 4-6 and 6-2.With this victory, Báez, 21, will enter, starting next week, for the first time in his career among the best 50 tennis players in the world. It is worth mentioning that the Argentine has been starring in a great week in Estoril with successive triumphs over the local Joao Sousa (83rd), champion of Estoril in the 2018 edition, and against the Croatian Marin Cilic (23rd), former number 3 in the world and champion of the US Open in 2014.
