Collaboration agreement signed to enhance the legacy of Violeta Parra

This week the Violeta Parra Museum signed a new collaboration agreement with Altiplano Foundation of the Region of Arica and Parinacota, which will allow both institutions to develop cultural activities in a joint and decentralized manner. 
The Violeta Parra Museum it is the space that houses both the memory and creative legacy of the artist, as well as the documentation related to the life and work of the singer, giving special emphasis to educational development. It is managed by a foundation whose objective is to preserve, restore, disseminate and value his work.
For its part, the Altiplano Foundation stands out for conserving the natural and cultural heritage of the Andean and rural communities of the Region of Arica and Parinacota, and have contributed to the restoration of Andean housing and other conservation and sustainable development projects in the regions of Arica and Parinacota, Tarapacá, Antofagasta and soon in Oaxaca, Mexico. It should be noted that it is a joint work with the communities, highlighting the process of restoration of local heritage. 
It is also one of the main organizations in charge of festivals in the area how the Baroque Arica Festival, dedicated to South Andean art.
Regarding the collaboration, the Director of the Violeta Parra Museum, Cecilia García-Huidobro, said that “The Violeta Parra Museum is a living entity, which goes far beyond its walls and is deployed in the different territories, bringing the work of Violeta Parra to the communities. In that sense, the Altiplano Foundation is a magnificent ally, for the vast Andean north and through the agreement we will be present at the Arica Baroque Festival with workshops, mediations and conferences, “he said.
For the Director of Festivals Fundación Altiplano, Ricardo Rodríguez, “the alliance with the Violeta Parra Museum is an outstanding milestone, which will allow us to know a little more about the work of the singer and project future work between both organizations,” he said.
