Two Jesuit priests murdered in Chihuahua temple

The Jesuit community in Mexico denounced the murder of priests Javier Campos Morales and Joaquín César Mora Salazar, which occurred yesterday inside the temple of the community of Cerocahui, Chihuahua.
Through a statement, it was detailed that the bodies of the victims were stolen from the temple by armed people.
“We demand that all protective measures be adopted immediately to safeguard the lives of our Jesuit brothers, religious, laity and the entire community of Cerocahui,” the Jesuit community said.

Likewise, the Jesuit community pointed out in the document that the Tarahumara mountains, like many other regions of the country, face conditions of violence and oblivion that have not been reversed.
“Every day men and women are arbitrarily deprived of their lives, as our brothers were killed today,” the statement said.
For his part, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said that there is already information about those allegedly responsible for the murder of the two Jesuit priests in Urique, Chihuahua.
In a press conference, he indicated that with the information he has, until 5 in the morning, is that they entered the church chasing a person, whom they killed, and when the priests left, they were also killed.

“We are already addressing this issue, we know that Urique is an area with the presence of organized crime but we are already working on that,” the president said.
According to figures from the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System (SESNSP), from January to May of this year, in Chihuahua there are 904 investigation folders for the crime of homicide.
