6 bodies found in Yucatan; see nexus with kidnapping in Quintana Roo

The bodies of six people were found in Yucatan. The authorities of that entity and those of Quintana Roo are investigating whether these correspond to those of a group of people who this week were kidnapped in Quintana Roo territory.
The Attorney General’s Office of Quintana Roo reported the finding on Saturday. In his Twitter account, he indicated that he works with the Attorney General’s Office of Yucatan to identify the bodies and determine whether or not they are those who were kidnapped in Xcalac.

Yesterday, the Attorney General of Quintana Roo, Óscar Montes de Oca, revealed that eight people were kidnapped this week in that town.
According to the official, these are people who were hired to take care of a ranch in the area, which registers a relevant activity of drug trafficking groups.
The prosecutor said yesterday that authorities had received seven complaints and had deployed a search operation that included overflights.

Quintana Roo has recorded numerous acts of violence throughout the year. The authorities themselves attribute the situation to disputes between criminal groups to control illicit routes and businesses.
Figures from the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System (SESNSP) indicate that between January and May in Quintana Roo there were 238 intentional homicides and five femicides.
