He said that the head of the Consulate General of Mexico in Chicago, Reyna Torres, is already in contact with the families of the victims to receive the necessary support.

According to AFP, the shooting has left at least six dead and 24 injured.
“Two dozen people have been transported to highland Park hospital. Six have been confirmed dead,” Commander Chris O’Neil of the police told reporters.
The suspect, described by police as a “dangerous” white man between the ages of 18 and 20 in possession of a “high-powered rifle,” escaped and is being sought, O’Neil said, urging everyone to take cover.
He added that “firearm evidence” was found on a nearby roof, so “everything indicates that (the suspect) was discreet, he was very difficult to see.”
Several law enforcement agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), state police and local police, are collaborating in the response to the attack.
