Covid-19: Minsal reports 30 deaths, 9,074 new infections and 39,565 active cases

The Ministry of Health (Minsal) reported on 9,074 new cases of Covid-19, with a positivity of 14.54% in the last 24 hours nationwide, after the realization of 60,433 PCR tests and antigen tests, while the daily positivity in the Metropolitan Region is 14.3%.
According to minsal, the indicators are going down. The variation of new confirmed cases at the national level is -7% and -6% for the comparison of seven and 14 days, respectively. Meanwhile, four regions decreased their cases in the last seven days and four did so in the last two weeks.
Of the 9,074 new cases, 38% are diagnosed by antigen test, 48% originate by Active Case Finding (BAC) and 26% of those reported are asymptomatic. As for the Metropolitan Region, it presents 28% by antigen, 41% by BAC and 19% of the reported cases are asymptomatic.
According to sampling, the regions with the highest positivity in the last week are Coquimbo, O’Higgins, Valparaíso and Antofagasta.
Meanwhile, the Atacama region has the highest current incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by the regions of Arica, Coquimbo and Magallanes.

According to today’s report, of the total number of new cases of Covid-19, 4,894 correspond to symptomatic people and 1,720 have no symptoms. In addition, there were 2,460 positive PCR tests that were not reported.
The total number of people who have been diagnosed with the virus in the country reaches 4,075,533. Of that total, 39,565 patients are in the active stage. The recovered cases are 3,973,547.
As for the deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours there were 30 deaths due to causes associated with the coronavirus. The total number of deaths in the country stands at 58,787.
To date, 190 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 120 are supported by mechanical ventilation. In relation to the Integrated Health Network, there is a total of 254 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where he or she is.

Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, yesterday the results of 60,433 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported, reaching to date a total of 40,990,739 analyzed nationwide. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 14.54% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 14.3%.
With respect to the Health Residences, there are 28 lodging facilities, with 2,095 total beds. The actual occupancy nationwide is 62%, leaving a total of 637 beds available to be used.
