They shoot at a family party in León, Guanajuato; 6 died

Guanajuato.- Armed men shot at people who were at a family party and killed six in the streets of León, Guanajuato, during the early hours of this Sunday, July 10. The events occurred in the streets of Costa del Mar Rojo, in the Santa María de Cementos neighborhood, when armed men arrived aboard two motorcycles and shot at those present, which left several people injured, according to information from local media. After the armed attack, the authorities received a call for help, in which they reported the presence of several people injured by a shooting. The elements of the municipal police who arrived at the place realized that the aggression occurred during a family party. Civil Protection paramedics and municipal firefighters also moved to the scene to help 10 people who were hit by firearms. Of the ten shot, six lost their lives at the scene, while the other four were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. According to unofficial information, the death toll rose to seven and the number of wounded to five. The site was guarded by municipal police, who requested the presence of the personnel of the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo), to take charge of the bodies, and elements of the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Guanajuato, to begin the corresponding investigations.
