The National Meteorological Service (SMN), launched this afternoon a yellow alert for storms of varying intensity for the south of the province of Entre Ríos and snowfall “some locally strong” for the mountain areas of Mendoza and San Juan. The WARNING of the SMN indicates that “the region will be affected by storms of varying intensity, some being able to be locally strong” and adds that “it is expected that they are mainly accompanied by hail and gusts, not ruling out intense water fall in short periods” Also, “values of accumulated precipitation between 15 and 40 mm are expected, being able to be exceeded locally”. The alert applies to Colón, Gualeguaychú, Ibicuy Islands, Tala, and Uruguay.On the other hand, in the case of Mendoza and San Juan, the agency indicates that “the coverage area will be affected by snowfall, some locally strong” and “accumulated snow values between 15 and 30 centimeters high are expected, and can be exceeded in a timely manner.” In Mendoza, the alert applies to the Cordillera de Las Heras, Cordillera de Luján de Cuyo, and Cordillera de Tupungato.For its part, for San Juan, the SMN announced that the warning covers the Cordillera de Calingasta. In addition, it issued an alert for strong winds for the mountain areas of La Rioja, Catamarca and Salta.
