The Ministry of Public Health of Rosario confirmed the detection of the second case of monkeypox in the city. In addition, they added that the patient is stable, isolated at home and work is being done to identify close contacts. The man, 41, has a history of travel to Spain and presented symptoms compatible with the virus classified as a global health emergency by the World Health Organization (WHO) on July 23. Taking into account his history, the patient had made a medical consultation on August 4 and given the suspicion of a possible case of Monkeypox, the samples were sent to the Malbrán Institute that today confirmed the positive diagnosis. From the local Ministry of Health indicated that monkeypox is a contagious viral disease that is transmitted from one person to another by contact with skin rashes, by body fluids, respiratory particles or contaminated materials. In the event of symptoms such as skin lesions, fever, headache, swollen glands and/or tiredness, and having been in contact with a confirmed or suspected case of the disease or having traveled to areas with circulation of the disease, consult with your health team.
