Mexico adds 13,313 cases of COVID and 71 deaths

Mexico added another 13,313 cases of COVID-19 and 71 deaths due to this disease on Thursday, the federal Ministry of Health reported this afternoon.
In its daily technical report, the agency in charge of Jorge Alcocer indicated that the number of cases accumulated in two years with five months of pandemic stood at 6 million 903 thousand 862.
Meanwhile, the death toll reached 328,596.

Over two years and five months, Mexico has gone through five waves of infections. The fifth is still underway, although federal health officials say it is already on the decline.
Last Tuesday, the Ministry of Health said that the fifth wave has four weeks with a decreasing trend.
While vaccination and the resumption of activities continue, the authorities also recognize that people should not lower their guard but maintain measures to prevent contagion.

The most suggested are the use of masks, frequent hand washing, keeping a healthy distance and ventilating enclosed spaces.
In a recent determination, the World Health Organization (WHO) resolved that COVID-19 will remain a priority health issue.
