Argentina to send humanitarian aid to Cuba over oil tank fires

Foreign Minister Santiago Cafiero announced that Argentina will send humanitarian aid to Cuba to help mitigate the consequences of the fires unleashed in oil tanks. The fire, which had started on August 5 at a fuel storage base in Matanzas, in western Cuba, was “controlled” last Wednesday by the island’s Fire Department. Tomorrow morning, at approximately 2 am, “the first load of Argentine donations for the brother Caribbean country, composed of more than 2.7 tons of sanitary supplies, will be transferred from the Ezeiza International Airport, and later two other remaining shipments will be made on Thursday 18 and Friday 19 of this month,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement. On Monday, through The White Helmets, we will send a load of donations with more than 2.7 tons of sanitary supplies, and Thursday and Friday there will be other shipments,” Cafiero wrote via Twitter.
