Minsal confirms that almost all regions of the country decreased their new cases of Covid-19 in the last seven days

The Ministry of Health confirmed that 15 of the country’s 16 regions decrease their new confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the last seven days, while five do so with the cases of the last fourteen days.
According to sampling, the regions with the highest positivity in the last week are O’Higgins, La Araucanía, Coquimbo and Valparaíso.
At the national level, the Atacama region has the highest current incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by the Arica, Los Ríos and Aysén regions.
According to today’s report, of the 9,239 new cases of Covid-19, 4,798 correspond to symptomatic people and 1,771 have no symptoms. In addition, there were 2,670 positive PCR tests that were not reported.
The total number of people who have been diagnosed with the virus in the country reaches 4,442,073. Of that total, 41,021 patients are in the active stage. The recovered cases are 4,334,192.
As for the deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours there were 28 deaths due to causes associated with the coronavirus. The total number of deaths in the country is 60,202.
To date, 159 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 105 are supported by mechanical ventilation. In relation to the Integrated Health Network, there is a total of 278 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where he or she is.
Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, yesterday the results of 77,397 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported, reaching to date a total of 43,403,845 analyzed nationwide. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 12.30% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 10.94%.

With respect to the Health Residences, we have 31 lodging facilities, with 2,113 total beds. The actual occupancy nationwide is 59%, leaving a total of 645 beds available to be used.
